Mom never had trouble speaking for herself. And that was a pure blessing during her stay in the Alzheimer’s ward of her nursing home. It’s not true that Alzheimer’s steals everything. The mind still ponders the wonders of life. The heart still loves intensely. The spirit still worships and prays. And the urge to sing is stronger than ever.

Fran on Singing
“If you don’t use music, you lose music.”
“I’ve been told that I have a good voice, no matter what I sing.”
Fran on Faith and Prayer
“I look for God’s grace and His love, awareness and faith, and things will start to come together.”
“You can say your own prayers, and pretty soon it’s all there. I think of Him all of the time: In the middle of the day. In the middle of the night. Thank you, God, for taking the time out to make me happy.”

Fran on Children and Family
“Harry and I always decided that we wanted children. It is a real good feeling. There is such fragrance in life.”
“I think that we (Harry and Fran) should give them an idea of how to reach God.”
On the best thing about having children: “You can guide them to be in perfect harmony with the Lord and try in various ways to make it work.”
On the best gift a mother can give: “The love of God and the wonderful way that makes them learn more and more about God.”
“Dear Jesus, I thank you for my family and loved ones whom I can lean upon and have fun with. Some people don’t have that, but I do. Thank you for the love and the feeling that I have for my family.”
Fran On Memory Loss
